Comparison of Sensitivity and Specificity of Commercial Amphetamine Tests

Drug addiction is a disease that characterized by compulsion, desire to take different substances permanently or for certain period of time. Numerous negative incidents, such as crimes, work accidents and traffic accidents, are related using illegal substances. Therefore, urine drug cassette tests have become screening tool. However, considering legal consequences test result, the question arises their performance reliability. On this account, main objective study was evaluate sensitivity specificity available on commercial pharmaceutical market. Evaluated were immersed in synthetic diluent spiked with amphetamine at various concentrations also containing potentially interfering caffeine, paracetamol acetylsalicylic acid, after time, it observed whether result expected. The reference method used high-performance liquid chromatography. obtained results confirmed declared cut-off well rapid diagnostic tests.
